Greifswald is located in the north east of Germany close to the Baltic Sea and the popular islands Rügen and Usedom in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Greifswald has a long history as a Hanse town and as the home of Greifswald University, which celebrated its 550th anniversary last year.

The students of the summerschool will be accomodated in the JUGENDHERBERGE (Youth hostel) Greifswald. There are shared rooms only (4 persons per room).

The lectures and courses of the summerschool will be held at the Institute of Physics.

Travel information:

The most convenient way of travel within Germany is by train. It takes about 3-4 hours to reach Greifswald from Berlin and Hamburg and 8-12 hours from Frankfurt.

The major German international airport is Frankfurt. Nearby airports with international connections are Berlin and Hamburg.
